So, I guess I've decided to start a blog...hm...another website to remember to update, we'll see how this goes...My goal for this was to have a place to share things about what's happening in mine and Brent's lives; instead of my own self-indulgent web pages (i.e. myspace and facebook). So, here goes...

Things are quite interesting for us right now. The school district I sub for just got out of school for summer and I am hoping my Jo-Ann's paycheck will float me through summer. I am also still trying to search for a full-time teaching job...I know...good luck...It sucks because I don't even know what to do with my life other than teaching, it's all I've known and had my heart set on since middle school. So, for now I basically sit and wait for the state to get their act together.

As for Brent, he was recently let go from his job. It caught both of us off guard, we were and still are pretty shocked and devastated by it. The timing couldn't have been any worse and there was never any sign of this coming. Brent was pretty much always lead to believe that he had pretty decent job security. After everything he did for the company we just feel a little stabbed in the back; and there never really was any explanation of why they decided to let him go. So, Brent and I are in the process of weighing our options. Between the California Education System's shortfalls and Brent's completely unexpected unemployment, the grass is looking a lot greener over in Colorado with the rest of Brent's family. We are going out there the 26th and Brent is going to meet with a potential employer, if all goes well he'll move out there and I'll stay here for a little while to tie up some loose ends before I head out.

I think that pretty much sums up where we are at this point. If anything interesting happens, I'll try to update!
